Palm Briquette

A palm briquette is a solid cylindrical shape made from compressed palm waste (palm fibre) that can serve as a substitute for firewood without using binders. The natural lignin in the fibre binds the particles together to form a solid briquette. Compared to firewood, burning a palm briquette is more efficient due to its low moisture content (as low as 12% compared to 65% for green firewood). Palm briquettes can be used for various purposes, including industrial boiler, furnace, and foundries klin, as well as for residential and commercial steam generation and heating.
Sustainable Substitute for Conventional Fuel

As the awareness of global warming issue, people are looking for alternative and ideal green fuel to substitute conventional fuels such as coal. Palm briquette is one type of renewable energy which helps to reduce the content in the atmosphere through zero carbon emissions; it is definitely a good choice for a pollution free environment.

Palm Briquette is an Ideal Green Fuel due to:

• Eco friendly and renewable energy fuel.

• Economical and cheaper than other solid fuels ie. coal and wood.

• Higher thermal calorific value around 4000 Kcal/Kg.

• Pollution free because there is no sulphur or any hazardous materials.

• Lower ash content 2 to 5%. There is no fly ash when burnt.

• Consistent high burning efficiency due to low moisture.

• Contain high density and higher fix carbon value.

• Easy for transportation, feeding & combustion due to unique shape.

• Combustion is more uniform compared to other fuels.

• Good market value due to rise in price of fossil fuels.

• Shape: Cylindrical

• Diametre: 7cm

• Length: 50mm to 300mm

• Moisture: < 12%

• Calorific value: 4000 Kcal/kg

• Ash content: 3.79%

• Volatile matter: 81.5%

• Fixed carbon: 14.7%
